Importance-

Krishna Janmashtami marks the auspicious day when Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu was born to Devaki and Vasudev during the Dvapara era to rid the people of Mathura from the tyranny of king Kansa. It is one of the most important festivals in the Hindu religion.

Krishna Janmashtami, Hindu Festival celebrating the birth (Janam) of Lord Krishna on the eighth (Ashtami) day of the Bhadrapada (August-September).

History-

The 8^th Avatar of Lord Vishnu in the form of Lord Krishna took birth to kill his uncle king Kansa. However, once king Kansa becomes aware that the one to cause his defeat would be his own nephew, he vowed to kill all the children born to his sister Devaki. To prevent Lord Krinsha’s deal, Vasudev took him to Yashoda and Nanda in Vrindavan.

His childhood-

Lord Krishna was very naughty as a child. His love for ‘makkhan and dahi’ drove him to steal them from the residents of Vrindavan. They called him ‘Makhan chor’.

Krishna-Radha loving bond

Krishna Radha is acknowledged as the supreme goddess. It is said that Krishna is only satiated by devotional service in loving servitude and Radha is the personification of devotional services to the supreme Lord. Various devotees worship with the understanding of her merciful nature. Radha is also depicted to be Krishna himself. as per Hindu scriptures, Radha is considered as the complete incarnation of Mahalakshmi.

Everyone glorifies the true love of Radha Krishna. There are many songs, stories written for the appreciation of their true love.

It is believed that Krishna enchants the world but Radha enchants him. Therefore they are called as Radha-Krishna.
