We are living in the age of Science. Science is neither a blessing nor a curse. It is what man makes of it. Science can be the greatest of the blessing or the worst of the curses. We blame science but it is not true. In fact, we should blame man. Science as a servant serves us in many ways. It is a blessing if we use it as a servant. It is a curse if we make it our master.
Uses of Science-
Science has helped us in conquering time and distance. Science has already improved living conditions of man. Trains, motor cars, steamers, and aeroplanes take us quickly and comfortably from one place to another within a short span of time. Man can fly in the air like a bird and swim in the ocean or underwater like a fish.
Electricity is the greatest blessing of science. For domestic life and industries, electricity is a boon. Science has done wonderful work in the medical field. Many new medicines and vaccines have been invented to cure fatal diseases. Science has helped us in the development of agriculture and industry. It has helped man to build dams and big canals. The machines save a lot of time, money, and labour. Science has developed industry.
Science has given a wonderful means of recreation and communication. Cinema, radio, television, mobile phones, internet are the common means of recreation. internet is the best and cheapest source of recreation. These are the miracles of Science.
Abuses of Science-
When science becomes our master, it is very destructive. Godly powers in the hands of nefarious men are dangerous. Aeroplanes and ships can be misused for carrying war materials for destruction. Aeroplanes can be used for dropping bombs on innocent people. They can demolish beautiful buildings, museums, dams and kill men, women and children in no time. Railway trains can be misused for carrying armies, arms and weapons to enslave other people and countries.
Although there are lots of invention in the medical field but the medicines cause reactions and give birth to many unknown diseases. Science has given to man, destructive weapons of War. The havocs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and those Gulf War are before us. Nuclear weapons can destroy in a moment what takes decades to build.
Science has become a necessary part of Life-
Machines were invented to serve man. we depend too much on machines nowadays. And machines are very stern masters. They need proper monitoring. If we neglect the needs of a machine, we face trouble. Artificial Intelligence makes our day to day work very easy, correctly, and smoothly. They relieve man of all heavy and hazardous work. Now we can not imagine our life without them.
Conclusion of Wonders Of Science-
Thus we see that Science has brought both Heaven and Hell to the world of man. It is up to man to use them judiciously for constructive purposes. Otherwise, the outcomes will be very destructive.
